Official Logo & Meaning

Overall, the logo resembles a beautiful flower that depicts the hopes and desires of people with cerebral palsy to live despite the challenges and obstacles they may face in life.

The heart-shaped blossom symbolises the power of love, a love of the kind that people with cerebral palsy need most from everyone.

The four leaves supporting the love symbol denote the spirit of perseverance and determination in overcoming life's challenges and obstacles, and all these must start from a green young age. Green is also the colour of sustainable energy, symbolising that the spirit of charity lives in everyone from all walks of life regardless of race, religion, and stature. They all will not cease their continuous support for the association.

The bigger, blue, round spot placed higher than the smaller yellow one represents a more abled person obligated to provide shelter, guidance, and protection to the less abled person who needs all the help they need.

Our History

History of Wishesland Sibu

Wishesland Sibu was set up on 4.8.2022 by a group of volunteers and cerebral palsy parents in Sibu to unite all the cerebral palsy children and adults under one organisation. The idea of setting up Wishesland Sibu was brought up by Mr. Kevin Yeo to Mr Chi Poh Yung, the founder cum president of Wishesland Kuching, in 2021. He is deeply touched by the noble acts done by Mr. Chi towards cerebral palsy children in Kuching and hoping Sibu also have such centre for cerebral palsy children. Without any delayed, both parties have reached a consensus and started to prepare for all the necessary to set up Wishesland Sibu.

“Setting up Wishesland Sibu is one of the best things I ever did in my life” said Mr. Kevin Yeo. When asked by people why he set up Wishesland Sibu as he don’t have any cerebral palsy children, Mr. Kevin Yeo said helping society so that society is full of love is his main objective, after all, someone need to do something for cerebral palsy society in Sibu and coincidently, that person is him.

Mr. Kevin Yeo and his pro term committee member started to work on the preparation to set up Wishesland Sibu in December 2022. They faced with some challenges during the initial stage of setting up Wishesland Sibu such as getting a place as the operating centre, recruiting member and soliciting for fund. Nevertheless, with strong support and guidance from Mr. Chi, everything started to run smoothly and application to set up Wishesland Sibu was officially approved by Registrar of Society on 4.8.2022.

Ever since Wishesland Sibu was set up, a few activities have been organized such as visiting families with cerebral palsy children, awareness campaigns in local newspapers and social media, giving out flyers to Sibu General Hospital and pediatrics clinics around Sibu, courtesy call to PPDKs and recruiting of volunteers.

On 18th December 2022, we have successfully organised a family cum board member gathering at En Tao Church, Sibu. In order to provide cerebral palsy children with a conducive environment to undergo various rehabilitation programmes, Wishesland Sibu succeeded in renting a house at Jalan Sharif Manshor as our temporary operating centre in January 2023.

Our very first physiotherapy was officially report on duty on 15.2.2023. After few days of preparation and on-job briefing, Wishesland Sibu officially started its operation on 22.2.2023 where our staff started to go home visit to those families with cerebral palsy children and has no transport to come to Wishesland Sibu.

Currently, we are doing awareness campaign in social media, local newspapers, roadshow and releasing of cerebral palsy related articles in newspapers so that members of the public in Sibu are aware of the existence of Wishesland Sibu. We strongly encouraged families with cerebral palsy children in Sibu to enrol their children with Wishesland Sibu so that their children could get treatment the soonest.

We have strong faith that with strong support from cerebral palsy families, government agencies, corporate bodies and members of the public, Wishesland Sibu will be able to continue to grow and become 2nd home to cerebral palsy children in Sibu.

Together, let’s build a more peaceful world.

Cerebral Palsy…Create Passion!

Thank you, I love you.
